CeeDee Lamb proves he belongs in Cowboys’ esteemed ‘No. 88 club’ with latest feat

This year, CeeDee Lamb became the third Cowboy to have 1,200 or more receiving yards, 90 or more receptions and eight or more touchdowns in a season, joining Michael Irvin and Dez Bryant.

Lamb has proved he belongs in Dallas’ exclusive “No. 88 club.” Former Cowboy stars like Drew Pearson and Irvin — both Pro Hall of Famers — and Bryant wore the number.

After making his second consecutive Pro Bowl, Lamb inserted himself into the elite wideout conversation, too. He ranks among the league’s top five in three major receiving categories (receptions, TDs and yards) through 15 games.

According to Pro Football Focus, he’s the No. 1 slot wide receiver.

Another top wideout has taken notice, too. Miami’s Tyreek Hill, second in receiving yards this season, recently said Lamb is his favorite wide receiver in the NFL, calling him “smooth” on his Twitch stream, via insider Bobby Belt.

He was smooth in a 27-13 victory over Tennessee on Thursday, catching 11 of 14 targets for 100 yards.

It was his fifth 100-yard performance this season, becoming the first Cowboys WR to have three consecutive 100-yard games since Pro Hall of Famer Terrell Owens in 2006.

The 23-year-old is quickly becoming one of the franchise’s best passing weapons in recent memory and is a big reason why the Cowboys have had back-to-back 12-win seasons for the first time in 27 years.
