Cardinals’ Kliff Kingsbury again shares wild story about Tom Brady

Arizona Cardinals head coach Kliff Kingsbury has once again shared an interesting story about Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback Tom Brady.

As Michael David Smith mentioned for Pro Football Talk, Kingsbury spoke with reporters Wednesday about what it was like to be Brady’s teammate while with the New England Patriots during the 2003 season.

“The total commitment, lifestyle, sleep, eat, study, work that he’s put into that, it’s insane,” Kingsbury said of Brady. “When I got there, I thought I worked hard, then I watched what he did and put into it and it was on a whole different level. There’s a reason he’s the best there ever was.”

Back in June 2021, CBS Sports’ John Breech pointed out how Kingsbury once told a tale about how he and others got “hammered” with Brady the night before a wedding in May 2015. Kingsbury hilariously remembered how he found Brady early the next morning in the middle of an intense workout.

“I’m like, ‘You are such a sociopath, such a sicko,'” Kingsbury said of that interaction with the seven-time Super Bowl champion. “His desire to be the best ever is just on [another level]. The world hasn’t seen much like this. A guy who has dedicated every waking moment, diet, sleep, work ethic, to being the best ever. So that just kind of tells the story of him and what he’s about.”

Kingsbury may not have much to smile about the next time he sees Brady. The 4-10 Cardinals will start third-choice quarterback Trace McSorley when they host Brady and the 6-8 Buccaneers on Christmas night.
