Bucs vs. Seahawks: Most Impressive Players In Week 10

Fresh off of a big come-from-behind win at home over the Rams last week, the Bucs went to Germany in Week 10 for a big international matchup with the NFC West-leading Seahawks. Tampa Bay played one of its most complete games of the season, getting out to a 21-3 lead before hanging on late for a massive 21-16 win. With the victory, the Bucs head into their bye week at 5-5 and leading the NFC South.

Here are the most impressive players from Tampa Bay’s win over Seattle:

Rachaad White

The Bucs finally pulled the trigger and started White over Leonard Fournette on Sunday, and it paid off. Fournette had a fine game for himself before leaving with an injury in the second half, but White was on another level. He posted his first career 100-yard day, rushing for 105 yards on 22 carries (4.8 avg.). His best run of the day was a 29-yarder that ended with him throwing Quandre Diggs to the ground. He’ll be a nominee for Kyle Brandt’s “Angry Runs” segment this week as a result. The rookie was key in helping Tampa Bay control the clock, plus he came through with a huge first down late to help the offense hold on for the win.

Devin White

Playing with a heavy heart after the loss of his father this week, White was at his best against the Seahawks. He played a huge part in limiting Seattle’s potent run game, plus he came through with two sacks and a timely forced fumble in the red zone. This game saw him play under control while still having those splash plays mixed in, which is a huge step forward for the captain after several weeks of struggles.

Offensive Line

The big men up front deserve a ton of credit for the offense’s success on Sunday. Tampa Bay’s much-maligned rushing attack put up 161 yards thanks in large part to a strong performance from the offensive line, plus the unit kept Tom Brady clean. Seattle’s pass rush was a non-factor, registering zero sacks and just one quarterback hit on the day.

Julio Jones

Jones has struggled to stay on the field for the Bucs this season, but when he’s out there, he’s typically good for some big plays. The biggest came early in the second quarter on Sunday as he caught a pass over the middle of the field on 3rd & 10 before racing 31 yards for the game’s opening touchdown. The veteran caught three of his five targets for 53 yards and the score.

Jake Camarda

He only had to punt twice on the day, but the Bucs’ rookie punter was fantastic once again in Week 10. His first kick of the day was a 59-yarder that completely flipped the field, while his second came from his own end zone and went for 63 yards. That punt was huge for Tampa Bay late in the first half, as it helped the defense keep Seattle off the board before halftime. The reigning NFC Special Teams Player of the Week is really becoming an important factor for the Bucs.

Chris Godwin

In the first nine games of the season, Godwin struggled to get back to his best. That was to be expected, as he’s coming off of a major knee surgery. But he looked more like himself on Sunday, catching six of his eight targets for a team-high 71 yards and a touchdown. It was his first score of the season, and it came at a key time.

Tom Brady

Brady took command of Tampa Bay’s offense and made good throw after good throw in Sunday’s win. He had one bad one late and it went for a costly interception, but the G.O.A.T. finished the day 22-of-29 for 258 yards and two touchdowns. The win means he remains undefeated in his career when playing internationally.

Jamel Dean

The matchup between Dean and DK Metcalf was bound to be a good one, and it was. Dean arguably got the best of it, playing a solid game overall while totaling six tackles and a pass breakup. He kept Metcalf out of the end zone as well, which is always a win.

Joe Tryon-Shoyinka

Tryon-Shoyinka was all over the backfield on Sunday. The slippery turf got him a couple of times and prevented him from picking up a couple more sacks, but he did have one on the day. He got to Geno Smith on the Seahawks’ first drive, dropping him for a big 17-yard loss.

Mike Evans

Evans won’t steal any headlines this week, but he had a strong five-catch-on-five-targets performance. He totaled 54 yards, making some big catches for the Bucs to help them move the chains and sustain drives.

Bucs’ Third-Down Offense

This is an overarching win for Tampa Bay’s offense as a whole. Give credit to Brady, White, Fournette, the receivers and the offensive line for going an insane 10-of-15 on third downs. The Bucs haven’t been able to keep drives alive all season, but they certainly did so on Sunday.
