Bruno Fernandes claims Manchester United’s players are ‘not happy’ with Boxing Day draw at Leicester
Bruno Fernandes revealed Manchester United are disappointed with their 2-2 Boxing Day draw with Leicester City after leading the match twice.
Ole Gunnar Solksjaer’s side missed the chance to close the gap on leaders Liverpool as the points were shared with Brendan Rodgers’ side who began the day in second place.
But the Red Devils conceded six minutes later through Axel Tuanzebe’s own goal to drop two points but Fernandes believes his disappointed team-mates are showing good signs in being upset with the draw.

Fernandes told BT Sport: ‘I was really happy when I got in the dressing room and I saw everyone disappointed and saying the things we had to do better. You are creating a winning mentality and we are not happy with this point.
‘We are frustrated, we know we had the chance to get three points, it was important for us because we want to win all the games.’
United took the lead when Fernandes poked a ball through to Marcus Rashford who finished with ease but Harvey Barnes’ strike hauled Rodgers’ Leicester level before half-time,
Fernandes scored late on after good work from substitute Edinson Cavani but Tuanzebe diverted the ball into his own net while under pressure from Jamie Vardy’s shot.

Fernandes recognised the strength of United’s opponents on Saturday afternoon but lamented his side’s lack of clinical edge in front of goal.
The Portuguese midfielder added: ‘They have a good team, but we had the chances to win the game and be more than 2-1 at 85 minutes.
‘At that score we can concede a goal, we are disappointed but we have no time to be disappointed as we play again in three days, we have to be frustrated and we have to do much better in three days.

‘They’re a really good team, we know they defend well, they don’t give a lot of space to play. We missed chances to score, or the last pass wasn’t good enough.’
The Boxing Day goal was Fernandes’ tenth league goal of the season despite the top-flight season being just 14 matches old.
The 26-year-old midfielder has been a revelation since joining from Sporting Lisbon at the start of the year and has 26 goals in 44 matches for the Red Devils.
