Brock Purdy heads to Jacksonville to throw; 49ers QB ‘remains on track to be ready for the 2023 season’

There hasn’t been much Brock Purdy news in recent weeks, and that’s a good thing. The San Francisco 49ers quarterback has been progressing well in his recovery from March 10 UCL surgery and started throwing late last month.

The second-year player hasn’t had any setbacks in this rehabilitation, and the 49ers remain hopeful Purdy will be medically cleared in time for the start of the regular season. According to Tom Pelissero of NFL Network, Purdy is headed to Jacksonville for the next phase in his recovery.

“49ers QB Brock Purdy is headed to Jacksonville today to throw the next couple weeks with QB coach Will Hewlett and ortho specialist Tom Gormely — another sign Purdy is progressing through his rehab following elbow surgery and remains on track to be ready for the 2023 season,” wrote Pelissero via a tweet.
