Bournemouth are in talks over a move for Hungary international left-back Milos Kerkez.

The 19-year-old is valued at over £20million by his club AZ Alkmaar who regard him as one of the most talented full-backs in Europe.

Newcastle United, Leicester City and Leeds United have all checked on the teenager over the past year as have Borussia Dortmund but Bournemouth have opened discussions over a possible deal.

Kerkez was signed for AC Milan from Hungarian side Gyor by Italy’s greatest left-back Paolo Maldini yet he failed to get a break at Milan and left last year.

He has gone on to make 52 appearances for the Dutch side and scored five goals. Though born in Serbia, he has been capped by Hungary eight times.

Bournemouth’s main competition is likely to come from Benfica who have courted him for some months but have been reluctant to meet Alkmaar’s asking price.

Meanwhile, Bournemouth are among the clubs keen on Newcastle United goalkeeper Karl Darlow.
