Borussia Dortmund 0-4 Hoffenheim: Andrej Kramaric scores FOUR on Bundesliga final day

Borussia Dortmund were left humiliated on the final day of the Bundesliga season after Andrej Kramaric ran riot to score four times for a Hoffenheim side who strolled to victory.

The former Leicester City striker, who flopped during his time at the Foxes, did all the damage at Signal Iduna Park after netting all four of his goals in the first 50 minutes of the game.

Dortmund had little to play for heading into the match as they had already been confirmed as the Bundesliga’s distant runners-up behind Bayern Munich.

But the defeat would still leave a sour taste in the mouth of manager Lucien Favre who selected a strong side including Erling Haaland and Julian Brandt, while England international Jadon Sancho came off the bench at half-time.

Kramaric took just eight minutes to make his mark, curling home a stunning first-time finish from the edge of the box following a squared ball from Pavel Kaderabek.

The Croatian then turned poached on the half-hour mark to turn home a Robert Skov effort having been played onside by Lukasz Piszczek.

Dortmund supporters might have expected a response after Sancho and Achraf Hakimi came on after half-time but it took just three second half-minutes for Kramaric to net his hat-trick after rolling home a cool finish through the legs of keeper Roman Burki.

Two minutes latter he capped off the day’s scoring from the penalty spot, as a third of his season’s tally of 12 came on the final day of the campaign.

The result was a third straight victory for Hoffenheim under the caretaker charge of Matthias Kaltenbach and it lifted them into sixth spot, thus seeing them earn a spot in the Europa League next term without having to go through the qualifying rounds.
