Kendall County confirmed its first case of COVID-19 is in Boerne, the city’s mayor, Tim Handren, confirmed Thursday.

“That’s not a surprise frankly,” Handren said. “As we do more testing, we are going to learn there are more people with the COVID-19 virus. That is not to be alarmed or panic-stricken, we just need to exercise social distancing.”

More cases are being tested but it is unclear if those cases are in Boerne.

Currently there are no testing stations in Kendall County.

“If you have any of the symptoms, the most important thing you can do is stay home, wash your hands and exercise social distancing. I can’t over emphasize that,” Handren said.

He warned residents against panicking and hoarding essential items.
