Bexar County man dies after suffering more than 300 bee stings

 A 73-year-old man is dead after authorities say bees attacked him Monday morning in south Bexar County, the Bexar County Sheriff’s Office confirmed.

A 73-year-old man died Monday morning after being stung more than 300 times by bees, according to the Bexar County Sheriff’s Office. 

Deputies responded to a call about a man who appeared unresponsive after a swarm of bees attacked him just after 10:30 a.m. in the 17000 block of State Highway 16, BCSO says.

The female caller tried to perform life-saving measures, but had to stop after the bees started to sting her, deputies say. First responders estimated the victim was stung over 300 times. 

BCSO reports the man was transported in critical condition to the Southwest General Hospital, where he later died from his bee injuries.
