  • There were concerns over the club’s ability to secure their expensive signings
  • They did so by selling a further 25% of their in-house production company

Barcelona have now registered all their new signings with La Liga bar one, just 24 hours ahead of their first match of the season at home to Rayo Vallecano.

Defender Jules Kounde, who snubbed Chelsea to join Barça, is still not registered and the club will need to free up more of its wage bill in order to register the French defender before the end of the month.

But the club are happy with the outcome and confident that Kounde, who is recovering from a pubis operation and may not have featured anyway, will be registered by September 1.

Barcelona sold a further 24.5 percent of Barça Studios on Friday and when the Spanish League’s Economic Control department reviewed the details of the latest sell-off it was able to confirm that Robert Lewandowski, Raphinha, Franck Kessie, Andreas Christensen could all now be registered.

Sergio Roberto who signed a new contract this summer and Ousmane Dembele who re-signed for the club having become a free agent are also registered.

Jaume Roures, the head of the Orpheus Media company who have bought part of Barcelona’s in-house production company for 100m on Friday had said that he was confident the club would now be able to field all their stars.

‘I would not have interrupted my holidays if it were not to ensure that we can see all the best players (in the first game of the season),’ said the Barcelona-supporting businessman who helped president Joan Laporta raise his deposit to take control of the club last season.

Barcelona are still working on bringing in extra revenue before the end of August so they can register Kounde and complete the signing of Chelsea left-back Marcos Alonso.

The focus on further cutting back the wage bill has so far focused on Sergio Busquets, Frenkie De Jong and Gerard Pique but to date only Pique has adjusted his salary.
