Barcelona ‘considering move for Sassuolo’s Jeremie Boga’

Barcelona are reportedly considering a move for Sassuolo’s Jeremie Boga in the summer transfer window.

The former Chelsea winger has made a significant impact for Sassuolo this season, scoring eight goals and providing four assists in Serie A.

As reported by SPORT, Barcelona are aiming to strengthen their attacking resources ahead of next season, with Boga one of the options that they are considering.

Boga was previously at Chelsea but made just one competitive senior appearance for the Blues and was sent out on loan on three occasions.

Chelsea have a first refusal buy-back option on Boga of £12million (€13million) and it isn’t out of the question that Frank Lampard could bring the 23-year-old back to Stamford Bridge.

If Willian and Pedro, whose contracts are set to expire this summer, end up leaving Chelsea then it is possible that Boga, who has one senior cap for the Ivory Coast, could be brought in as an alternative option.

Barcelona, meanwhile, have significant problems with regards to a lack of squad depth, especially in attacking areas.

If Quique Setien’s side are to last the distance in numerous competitions next season then they will surely need to have more options in various positions.
