Baker Mayfield Calls Time With Los Angeles Rams A ‘Reset Button’ For His Career

After struggling for the past couple of years, Mayfield was feeling down about playing football. He said that when he was with the Rams it was the first time in awhile that he was having fun playing football. “It brought that feeling of having that success and really remembering what it was all about, Kind of hit the reset button for me,” Mayfield said. Mayfield started four games for the Rams and played in five, throwing for 850 yards and four touchdowns.

Career Resurrection In Tampa Bay?

Mayfield is now the favorite to land the week 1 starting job for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. While Kyle Trask is on the roster as well, it seems likely that Mayfield will be able to play his way into the role during training camp. There are no shortage of weapons on Tampa Bay either. Mike Evans and Chris Godwin are one of the better wide receiver duos in the league and the defense has some studs as well. If Mayfield can build off of last year, he might surprise a lot of people in 2023.

Mayfield is hoping that the reset button worked. If things do not work out in Tampa Bay, it is hard to see a world where he gets too many more chances in the NFL.
