Under the state’s executive order, swimming pools can operate at 25 percent occupancy starting May 8, but only if permitted by the local government.

San Antonio will continue to suspend the operation of pools for now, said Parks and Recreation spokeswoman Connie Swann.

“This is a developing situation and with guidance from the Health Transition Team, we are prepared to adjust our plans as the COVID-19 pandemic affects both our community’s health and the City’s financial capacity,” Swann said. For now, there is no reopen date set.

City parks and trails however remain open for use as long as social distancing is observed.
