Andy’s Frozen Custard giving out free pup cones to furry guests

Trying to beat the heat in San Antonio? Maybe your pet wants to sink their teeth into a sweet treat.

Well, your furry loved one is in luck. Andy’s Frozen Custard is giving the “paw-fect” treat to any four legged friend on Saturday, May 28.

Andy’s Frozen Custard guests pets can pick up a free pup cone from 11 a.m. to 11:30 p.m. at its 17927 West I-10 location. The store held its grand opening earlier this week, marking the chain’s first location in the Alamo City. The chain announced its plans to open the custard shop, located at the Rim, back in October 2021.

The treat is a puppy-sized scoop of Andy’s traditional, freshly-made vanilla frozen custard served in a bite-sized cone. Don’t worry though, Andy’s Frozen Custard has a drive-thru so your pooch can enjoy their treat from the back seat.

If you’d rather stick around awhile, guests can enjoy one of Andy’s many frozen sundaes, blended custard concretes, custard shakes, or malts while their favorite pup enjoys a pup cone treat. There’s even a seasonal item – the strawberry shortcake sundae, which is made fresh daily. You can view the shop’s menu here.

Within the ever-growing Rim shopping and dining space, Andy’s Frozen Custard is located in front of the Bass Pro Shop. The store is locally-owned and operated by Joseph and Andrea Shields.
