Analyst predicts Odell Beckham Jr. will sign with Cowboys

CBS Sports’ Tyler Sullivan has become the latest person to link free-agent wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. with the Dallas Cowboys.

“When he does put pen to paper on a contract, it’ll be with the Dallas Cowboys,” Sullivan said of Beckham while making “bold predictions” for the second half of the NFL season.

“The Cowboys have…already shown us that they are in the market for a wide receiver as they were reportedly deep in discussion to acquire Brandin Cooks at the deadline, but ultimately couldn’t get the money to work,” Sullivan added.

Last week, Cowboys owner and general manager Jerry Jones spoke highly of Beckham and said the three-time Pro Bowl selection who turns 30 years old on Saturday “is a player that I admire a lot.” Jones made his comments after Cowboys legend and Hall of Famer Michael Irvin said he has “personal knowledge of knowing how much Odell Beckham would love to play for the Dallas Cowboys.”

The 6-2 Cowboys aren’t the only team chasing Beckham’s signature this fall. New York Giants general manager Joe Schoen has been in contact with representatives for the receiver, and Buffalo Bills linebacker Von Miller is actively courting his former Los Angeles Rams teammate. The Rams, San Francisco 49ers,
Green Bay Packers, and Kansas City Chiefs could all also be options for Beckham depending on when he’s able to return from the torn anterior cruciate ligament in his left knee that he suffered playing for the Rams in Super Bowl LVI this past February.

A healthy Beckham signed with the Rams in November 2021 and went on to tally 27 receptions for 305 yards and five touchdowns in eight regular-season games. He then contributed 21 catches for 288 yards and two scores before he went down with the injury that reportedly could keep him out anywhere from the middle of this month to around Christmas.
