Analyst Explains Why Cowboys Didn’t Get Brandin Cooks

The Dallas Cowboys wanted to make a move at the trade deadline.

They know wide receiver depth is a weakness on their roster and the Cowboys tried to acquire Texans WR Brandin Cooks.

After a Tuesday full of negotiations with the Texans, Dallas was unable to agree on a deal.

Cooks wanted to get traded, especially to a contender, but it did not work out.

NFL insider, Jordan Schultz, said the $18 million due to Cooks next year was a hold-up in the deal.
