Adilson Malanda named to the MLS team of the Matchday 1
Charlotte FC defender Adilson Malanda was named to the MLS Team of the Matchday for MLS opening weekend.

Malanda’s outstanding performance also earned him Man of the Match as he scored Charlotte’s only goal in the 1-0 victory over New York City FC. Along with the goal, Malanda had five interceptions, four recoveries, four ground duels won, three tackles, completed 34 out of 37 passes and had one clearance while playing the entirety of the match as Charlotte kept a clean sheet.
Malanda was also named to the French team of the week by L’Équipe.
