AC Milan fans use one word to describe Hakan Calhanoglu after derby celebration

AC Milan’s supporters have taken to social media in their droves on Sunday night, to take aim at former midfield star Hakan Calhanoglu.

All square

Stefano Pioli’s men were of course back in action a short time ago.

In the latest edition of one of world football’s most historic derbies, AC Milan and Internazionale went head-to-head at the San Siro, in a Serie A showdown.

The former headed into proceedings boasting the advantage in the Italian top-flight table, aware that a victory would guide them clear of Napoli to the division’s summit.

When all was said and done on Sunday, however, the Rossoneri were ultimately forced to settle for a share of the spoils.

It was Inter who opened the game’s scoring early on, when Hakan Calhanoglu dusted himself down to slot home from the penalty spot, after it was adjudged that he had been felled by Franck Kessie in the hosts’ area:

Milan, though, quickly hit back, as Sandro Tonali’s inviting set-piece delivery was directed into his own net by Stefan de Vrij:

From here, the two sides exchanged chances, with Inter having fluffed a 2nd spot-kick opportunity through Lautaro Martinez, before Milan came within a whisker of a late winner when Alexis Saelemaekers rattled the post from distance.

Upon the final-whistle sounding, though, an all-important winner had not been found.

‘Snake’

Of course, on the back of the action coming to a close at the San Siro, it should come as little surprise to hear of the name of one player in particular stealing the headlines post-match.

The man in question? The aforementioned Calhanoglu.

Turkish midfielder Calhanoglu became the latest player to cross the Milan divide earlier this summer, when he opted to swap red for blue, after allowing his contract with AC Milan to expire.

In turn, after finding the net on Sunday, attentions swiftly turned towards whether or not the 27-year-old would opt to celebrate.

In the end, he did, not only embarking on a knee slide, but then cupping his ears in front of the Rossoneri support, in a clear show of disrespect towards his former employers.

And the Milan faithful have since made their feelings with their one-time midfield star crystal clear, joined by rival supporters and neutrals alike in using one very specific word to describe Calhanoglu late tonight:
