When it comes to dominating on the basketball court, Luka Doncic is undoubtedly one of the first names that comes to mind. However, the Los Angeles Lakers superstar’s habit of constantly complaining to referees and looking for fouls has become a growing concern for many. Now, popular NBA analyst Bill Simmons has openly expressed his frustration with the Slovenian star’s on-court behavior.
During the latest episode of his podcast with The Ringer, Simmons described the current version of Doncic as the “most insufferable” he has ever seen throughout the guard’s career.
“I think the guy is brilliant, I think he’s one of the best offensive players I have ever seen in my life,” Simmons said. “But it’s not a new take to say that his behavior during games has been a little insufferable.
“I think this is the most insufferable he’s ever been. I can’t believe how he behaves for two and a half hours at these games, and I don’t know one person who enjoys it.”
Simmons also expressed his frustration with how Doncic appears to react negatively to almost everything happening around him during games.
“He’s just unhappy, constantly, with everybody. And now if somebody talks s*** to him on the other team, then he’s gotta focus his rage on this,” he added.
This is not the first time Simmons has made his disappointment with Doncic’s behavior public. Last season, the analyst also suggested that even LeBron James appeared frustrated with the Slovenian’s tendency to seek fouls.
However, Doncic seemingly has little interest in letting the criticism bother him. After the Lakers defeated the Miami Heat, the Slovenian superstar gave a rather amusing and seemingly dismissive reaction when reporters asked him about receiving a technical foul during the game.
Instead of getting caught up in the outside noise, Doncic appears focused on letting his performances do the talking. The Lakers superstar has been producing extraordinary numbers night after night, leading his team through an impressive scoring stretch while strengthening his early case for the NBA MVP award.
