LeBron James helped the Philadelphia 76ers claw back from a 29-point deficit to beat the Cleveland Cavaliers, 114-06, in their home opener at Xfinity Mobile Arena on Thursday.
James had 17 points, 10 rebounds, five assists, and three steals in 33 minutes, providing all-around support to Tyrese Maxey, Joel Embiid, and Jaylen Brown, who all scored at least 20 points.
Before the game, President Donald Trump went on a rant on social media, claiming James disrespected the national anthem during the 76ers’ season opener against the New York Knicks at Madison Square Garden on Tuesday.
When a reporter asked James to comment, the 41-year-old forward gave a brief response.
“Must have been a slow news day at the office,” said the four-time MVP in the video posted by PHLY Sports’ Kyle Neubeck.

It is widely known that the 80-year-old Trump does not like James, who has repeatedly criticized the business tycoon-turned-politician.
Over the years, James has learned to tune out Trump, choosing not to dignify him by giving him any attention.
The 76ers’ wild victory over the Cavaliers was the biggest comeback in team history in the play-by-play era. It was also the biggest comeback of James’ career.
Maxey led the charge with 32 points, three rebounds, six assists, and two steals. Embiid added 24 points and seven rebounds, while Brown had 21 points, eight rebounds, and four assists.
James had an accidental collision with VJ Edgecombe in the third quarter, leaving the sophomore guard with a bloody nose.
The 76ers will face the Milwaukee Bucks on Saturday.
