A deadly crash at the Miami International Airport has affected some Labor Day travel plans for those flying in and out of Texas.
Travelers flying out of Austin may need to check their plans. An 8 a.m. departure from Austin to Miami was canceled Monday morning.
Some passengers have also faced delays with flights coming out of Miami.
KSAT’s Madalyn Lambert and Michelle Tamayo were stuck in Miami overnight after traveling during the busy holiday period.
AAA estimates there will be 17 million airport screenings during the Labor Day weekend travel rush.
Many travelers are also expected to be on the roads Monday as they return home from weekend getaways. AAA said the worst time to drive will be from 2 to 5 p.m.
Travelers should continue checking flight status updates with their airline and allow extra time for airport security and holiday traffic.
At San Antonio International Airport, the American Airlines direct flight to Miami scheduled to leave Monday morning was set to take off on time.
