5 Absolutely Insane Stats For 49ers’ QB Brock Purdy Since Week 14

When Brock Purdy was thrust into the lineup in Week 13 against the Miami Dolphins, many people wondered if that would derail the San Francisco 49ers. They had already lost their expected starter at quarterback, Trey Lance, in Week 2 to an ankle injury and now Jimmy Garoppolo would be joining him on the sidelines after injuring his foot.

Brock Purdy was Mr. Irrelevant in the 2022 NFL Draft as the last overall pick by the 49ers. Not much was expected when he took over the quarterback job, as speculation ran rampant that San Francisco could look to bring in a veteran such as Baker Mayfield, who was released by the Carolina Panthers the day after Garoppolo was injured.

It turns out, the 49ers didn’t need any help. No one could have predicted what has ensued since, as Purdy has been tearing up the league. Purdy has made five starts and in that time, he has been arguably the most productive quarterback in the NFL.

Since Week 14, Purdy is leading the league in numerous passing stats. According to NFL on CBS, he is leading the league in passer rating with 119.0, passing touchdowns per attempt with 8.9 percent and passing yards per attempt with 8.85. He is also tied for first with 11 touchdown passes and five wins over that span.
