49ers projected to own 11 picks heading into 2023 draft

The Tennessee Titans’ hiring of Ran Carthon, the 49ers’ former director of player personnel, as their new general manager results in some incoming compensatory picks for San Francisco—one this year and one in 2024.

Some fans wonder what draft picks the 49ers currently own in the upcoming draft. After all, they are still without a first-round pick due to the trade in 2021 to select quarterback Trey Lance. In October, San Francisco sent a package of draft picks, including second-, third-, and fourth-rounders this year, to the Carolina Panthers for running back Christian McCaffrey.

So what’s left? Quite a bit, it seems, when you factor in the selections expected to be awarded for players that departed the 49ers last offseason.
