49ers Legend Offers A Huge Trey Lance Endorsement

It’s all systems go for Trey Lance as the San Francisco 49ers‘ starting quarterback.

Even if Jimmy Garoppolo is still on the team’s payroll, the team has handed the keys to the former North Dakota State standout.

Lance will use training camp to build chemistry with his teammates and to get more comfortable in Kyle Shanahan’s offense.

But while the franchise is putting their trust in the second-year player, there are still doubts about him, especially with his low volume of work during his rookie year.

For them, Lance hasn’t done enough to prove that he is the right choice.

Those naysayers would have to stay silent, though, after Pro Football Hall of Famer Jerry Rice gave his seal of approval for Lance.

If the G.O.A.T talks, everybody listens.

Rice has paid his dues in the league and continues to hold the league’s all-time record for receiving yards, receptions, and catching touchdowns.

He continues to own those records even if he has been retired since 2005.

Rice said about Lance, “I was running routes for him, it didn’t take me long to be on the same page with him. He’s got that rocket arm but he’s also got that mobility and vision where he can extend plays and throw the ball downfield.”

He added, “I’m sure, with the repetitions on the field and players just really building around him, he’s gonna have a successful year this year.”

The Pressure Is On Lance To Perform

With the 49ers viewing him as an upgrade from Garoppolo, they hope that he can do better than their previous starter.

Therefore, they don’t just expect him to rack up more victories.

Instead, they hope that Lance can bring them to Super Bowl LVII, since Garoppolo took them to the NFC Championship Game.

It’s a tall order for a young quarterback to handle.

But if he will display what the Niners saw in him, the team will go places in 2022.
