49ers injuries: Kyle Juszczyk to miss time; Deebo Samuel day-to-day; Other updates

San Francisco 49ers head coach Kyle Shanahan spoke with reporters via a conference call on Monday, the day after the team’s 44-23 loss to the Kansas City Chiefs. He provided several injury updates from the game.

Wide receiver Deebo Samuel emerged with a hamstring injury and is day-to-day.

“He finished the game, but it was bothering him,” Shanahan revealed. “But yeah, he reported it today.”

As reported after the game, fullback Kyle Juszczyk broke his finger in the third quarter and had surgery on Monday.

“Most likely won’t be available this week,” Shanahan said. “Should get him after the bye.”

Shanahan added, “Missing any of our guys is tough. We’ve got a number of tight ends on our roster who we try to cross-train at that position. Whether it’s Ross [Dwelley] or sometimes it’s [George] Kittle. We’ve got [Tyler] Kroft. We’ve got Charlie [Woerner]. So we use all those guys pretty similar.”
