A 19-year-old man was detained after a woman was injured in a shooting on the South Side, according to the San Antonio Police Department.
The shooting happened just after 1:30 a.m. Saturday in the 1100 block of Roosevelt Avenue.
An SAPD preliminary report states that upon arrival, officers found the 35-year-old woman with a gunshot wound to her lower body. The woman was taken to a local hospital.
Police said the woman described the alleged shooter to officers she saw a man enter a nearby location.
Shortly after, the report states the man walked toward officers at the scene and was detained.
The man confessed to shooting the woman, SAPD said. He was booked for aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, according to the report.
