100 degree weather is coming for us by the weekend

If you didn’t get any rain on Thursday, then you’re likely up the famous creek without that famous paddle. High pressure will build into the state, effectively shutting down any chance for rain over the next week or more.

Under the influence of that high, look for sunny skies to dominate with temperatures soaring above 100 degrees for many areas across Central and North Texas this weekend and beyond.

For DFW, there is a minor chance of rain on Thursday as a disturbance rounds the periphery of the high, but the chance looks small at this time. Otherwise, things will be sunny and hot, just like the rest of the Texas.

For El Paso, we’re on record watch out here. So far we’ve racked up 21 days of 100 or higher in a row. The all-time record is 23 days of 100 or more in a row. Our current forecast currently calls for at least another week of 100 degrees or higher, and likely many more than that.
