1 Wild Statistic For New Packers’ Starting QB Jordan Love

The Green Bay Packers are set to start a new era during the 2023 season. Long-time starter Aaron Rodgers has made it clear that he no longer wants to be in Green Bay. Instead, he intends to play for the New York Jets this upcoming season.

That means that the Packers will be turning their team over to Jordan Love. Love was a first-round pick in the 2020 NFL Draft out of Utah State whom Green Bay actually traded up in the draft to select.

That was likely part of the reason that the relationship between Rodgers and the Packers began to sour. But, it is now Love’s time to shine as he will be tasked with carrying the torch, following in the steps of a future Hall of Famer just as Rodgers did with Brett Favre.

Those are some big shoes to fill, but the Packers are confident that he can get the job done. There was a reason that they selected him in the first round and while he hasn’t had many opportunities to showcase his talents, one stat stands out from his performance in 2022.

Love came on in relief of Rodgers on a few occasions last season, completing 14-of-21 pass attempts for 195 yards and one touchdown. The work that he did against the Philadelphia Eagles was impressive, as he even drew some praise from cornerback Darius Slay.

While his playing time was limited, Love found himself atop the leaderboard in one stat. Among players who attempted at least 20 passes last season, he recorded the highest passer rating at 112.2. Rounding out the top four of the list was Brock Purdy, Tua Tagovailoa and Patrick Mahomes.
