Fox San Antonio announces new morning show co-anchor

Fox San Antonio viewers will see a new face next month during the station’s morning programming.

Mayde Gomez will replace Breanna Barrs as co-anchor of “Fox News First” with Ernie Zuniga starting Oct. 19, the station announced earlier this week. Barrs left the station earlier this month.

“I’m very excited that Mayde is joining our strong ‘Fox News First’ team,” Sinclair San Antonio General Manager Dean Radla said in a news release. “… The combination of Mayde working with Ernie Zuniga, who’s such a strong presence in the market, will be dynamic for our viewers and allow FNF to continue to grow our ratings.”

“San Antonio continues to extend its arms to me,” Gomez said in the release. “I could not be more ecstatic to join the morning team and return to the city that gave me my first shot in news.”

Gomez is a graduate of the University of Texas in Arlington.
