Chelsea’s Timo Werner walks the London streets with his girlfriend after meal at Novikov Restaurant

Chelsea striker Timo Werner was spotted out in central London with his girlfriend on Tuesday night ahead of his first season in the Premier League.

The 24-year-old German completed a £47.5million move from Bundesliga side RB Leipzig earlier this summer and will link up with his team-mates in the coming weeks for pre-season training.

For now, Werner is getting used to his new surroundings and was seen exiting the swanky Novikov Restaurant in Mayfair with his partner Julia Nagler.

The Novikov, which was visited by fellow Chelsea arrival Hakim Ziyech in July, is one of the many London restaurants taking part in the ‘Eat Out To Help Out’ scheme.

The scheme sees the UK Government pay 50 per cent of all food and non-alcoholic drinks costs between Mondays and Wednesdays in August.

Other celebrities such as Liam Payne, Harry Kane and Dele Alli’s girlfriend Ruby Mae have all visited the restaurant in recent months.

Werner has been with partner Nagler for several years and the pair were first spotted together at a RB Leipzig Christmas party back in 2017.

She was seen in the stands when Werner led the line for Germany during their disastrous 2018 World Cup campaign in Russia, though the pair enjoyed a fairly private relationship.

The 23-year-old is a university student from Stuttgart and will be in London when Werner starts Chelsea training again.

Werner is expected to make his Premier League debut when the new season kicks off on September 12, while his first Champions League game for the west Londoners will take place on in mid-October.

This is the striker’s first career move away from Germany, having been at Leipzig since 2016. Before that, he was at German side Stuttgart where he had been since he was six-years-old.
