FORECAST

WINDY SUNDAY MORNING

Expect wind gusts of 35 to 40 mph between 5 a.m. and 9 a.m. Sunday. These strong north-to-northeast winds will create a blustery start to the day. If you’ve set up Halloween decorations, now is the time to secure or bring them indoors to prevent damage or loss.

After the gusty start, winds will settle in the afternoon

While the winds will ease gradually into the afternoon, elevated fire weather conditions are a major concern through midday.

NEAR CRITICAL FIRE WEATHER

Dry conditions & gusty winds bring near-critical fire weather conditions Sunday

Behind the front, very dry air will sweep in. Relative humidity (RH) levels are expected to fall into the mid-20% range around midday, combining with gusty winds to create near-critical fire weather conditions.

Though Red Flag Warning criteria may not be fully met, a Fire Danger Statement is likely to be issued. Fires can start easily and spread quickly under these conditions, so outdoor burning is strongly discouraged.

THIS WEEK

Cool weather will be short-lived. We’ll be near 90° each day this week with no chance for rain, unfortunately.
