Highlights from a historic rookie season.

Victor Wembanyama’s rookie season was historic. He was named the unanimous Rookie of the Year (the second San Antonio Spur to do so) and finished second in Defensive Player of the Year voting, all but ensuring he becomes the first rookie to make the NBA’s All-Defensive team since Tim Duncan. He established himself as a superstar in his first NBA season.

There were so many memorable moments from Wembanyama’s rookie season. There was the 5×5 game, an overtime thriller vs. the New York Knicks in which Wemby had 40 and 20, or the time he blocked Chet Holmgren to seal a victory and a ROTY win. He made highlight player after highlight play, throwing lobs off the back board to himself and stuffing superstars like Giannis Antetokounmpo at the rim. It was a lot to pack into once season, and it’s only the beginning of a long career.
