Victor Wembanyama makes the top 20 in NBA2K25

2024’s Rookie of the Year is in elite company

On September 6th, NBA2K25 will be available on PlayStation, Xbox, Nintendo Switch, and just about any gaming platform.

This season 20 players ended up with an overall rating of 90 or higher, and one member of the San Antonio Spurs made the cut.

The top rated players, with a score of 97 are Giannis Antetokounmpo, Luka Doncic, and Nikola Jokic.

Just behind them with a rating of 96 are Joel Embiid and Shai Gilgeous-Alexander. It should be noted the top five rated players are international draftees.

Stephen Curry, LeBron James, and Jayson Tatum all came in with a 95, while Anthony Davis and Kevin Durant earned 94.

Devin Booker, Jalen Brunson, and Anthony Edwards scored 93.

Earning ratings of 92 are Jaylen Brown, Kyrie Irving, Kawhi Leonard, and Donovan Mitchell.

Victor Wembanyama had a 91 but we can expect that number to improve during the season as he is still improving rapidly.

The 90s close out with Tyrese Haliburton and Ja Morant.

The ranking is determined subjectively, leaving devout fans to argue strongly for or against a players status. If past performance and a player’s age are factors, then Wemby should be one of the few trending up.

It’s noteworthy that Kawhi how suffers injury and Ja Morant, who was suspended for off court rank so high. Health and game availability and dependability must not factor in as significantly.

Either way, The French Phenom is on the list and will continue to build his impressive skillset.
