Shooting on East Side leaves man dead, another injured by stray bullet, police say

An investigation is underway after a man was found fatally shot on the East Side, according to San Antonio police.

Officers responded to the shooting just before 9:30 p.m. on Monday at the 2000 block of Schley Ave. However, police said they initially received several addresses for shots fired.

SAPD said the man was found dead on the street, and the homeowner was struck by a bullet inside his East Side home.

Police said the homeowner is in stable condition.

At least 10 shell casings were recovered at the scene, SAPD said.

There are currently no leads regarding the shooter or a suspected vehicle involved, police said

Upon further investigation, the shooting did not appear to be a random act of violence, according to SAPD.
