More records could be up for grabs over the next few days as we turn the calendar over to the month of October.

Starting with Monday, a pleasant morning in the mid-60s will lead in a hotter-than-average afternoon with plenty of sunshine and highs in the mid/upper 90s. Humidity will still be low along with winds out of the north-northeast at 3 to 10 mph.

Humidity generally stays low through much of this week, leading to more copy and paste conditions through at least Wednesday.

A slight uptick in moisture is expected ahead of next weekend, allowing slightly warmer mornings and added cloud cover to return to the forecast.

7 day forecast as of 9/29/24.

TROPICAL UPDATE

The National Hurricane Center continues to flag the western Caribbean and central Gulf of Mexico for potential tropical development over the next week, currently giving it a medium, 50% chance.

This currently does not look to be a major concern for South Central Texas, but with it still being early, we’ll keep tabs on any potential system and be sure to send out additional updates. Regardless – much of the Gulf Coast will still need to pay close attention over the next several days.
