The French power forward made his presence known to all during the 2024 Olympics

He was getting “MVP” shouts as French basketball fans were losing their minds. No, I’m not talking about Victor Wembanyama, I am talking about Guerschon Yabusele.

I’m talking about the guy who posterized LeBron James during the Olympic gold medal match.

He scored 20 points in France’s effort to send Team USA home with a silver medal. And although his summer goal ended unsuccessfully, Yabusele put his name into many conversations.

Social media has blown up with both pundits and basketball fans — many of them specifically Spurs fans — wanting to see the power forward back in the NBA. This time for the Silver & Black.

Yabusele spent two years with the Boston Celtics, spending much of his rookie season switching between the Celtics and their G-League affiliate Maine Red Claws.

With his limited playing time hindering stats, there was not enough to garner him attention, so after being waived, Guerschon returned to playing overseas.

He currently plays for Real Madrid, which most recently won the Liga ACB Championship.

Yabusele is using his international acclaim to throw his chapeau back toward the NBA.

And Spurs fans could not be more excited about pairing the French bulldog with his silver medal teammate.

It wouldn’t hurt to surround Wemby with players who make him comfortable both on and off the court. And it might not cost too much to figure it out.
