Open Thread: Mitch Johnson made a visit to Methodist Children’s Hospital
The Spurs coach spread some joy throughout
This was a great story posted recently. I share for those who haven’t seen it.
Spurs head coach Mitch Johnson (wow, still letting that title sink in) and his wife made their way through Methodist Children’s Hospital making room visits to patients who have limited mobility due to an immunocompromised status.
Johnson shard in a statement,
“It was an incredible experience to connect with these brave kids. Their strength and resilience inspire me, and I’m grateful for the opportunity to bring a little joy to their day.”
Johnson participated with pediatric patients craft calming jars and joined in on a music therapy session.
Additionally, he met with hospital staff, including the Emergency Services Facility Dogs who provide comfort to those who need it.
On a personal note, the Methodist Children’s Hospital holds a dear place in my heart. When my daughter was a toddler, she had a procedure for a broken elbow. The staff was amazing, and the communication throughout was comforting. It’s great to see them getting acknowledgement and support from the Spurs.
