Open Thread: It’s do or die tonight for the Heat, Bulls, Mavs, and Kings
The Play-in continues with the 9th vs 10th seeds
Last night the Magic beat the Hawks. Now the Magic have secured a match up with the Boston Celtics. Likewise, the Golden State Warriors secured a spot against the Houston Rockets in the first round of the playoffs by staving off a comeback attempt by the Grizzlies.
Tonight the 9th and 10th seed play in a “win or go home” fashion. The winner in the East will face the Atlanta Hawks on Friday in another do or die game.
Eastern Conference: Miami Heat vs. Chicago Bulls
I’ve got to he honest, the Bulls were a part of the trade that brought De’Aaron Fox to San Antonio. While seeing two solid Spurs personalities leave was bittersweet, both Tre Jones and Zach Collins are doing well in The Windy City. I’m rooting for the Bulls to put the Heat out of their misery. Their season was lost when Jimmy Butler started showcasing his attitude over his ability.
Western Conference: Dallas Mavericks vs. Sacramento Kings
Speaking of putting a team out of their misery, the Mavericks losing Luka Doncic was more detrimental to their franchise than the Heat trading Butler.
Therefore, my response for this matchup is roughly the same.
The Kings sent us Fox and deserve some support. And having three former Spurs — DeMar DeRozan, Doug McDermott, and Trey Lyles — definitely gets my vote.
Once again, the winner of this match up plays the Grizzlies for a chance to play Oklahoma City in the first round of the playoffs.
Who you rooting for tonight?
