The former EuroLeague player will coach Paris Basketball next season

Spurs big man and 2014 NBA Champion Tiago Splitter is heading to Paris.

After five years in the NBA as an assistant coach, Splitter is starting his first head coaching position in the EuroLeague with Paris Basketball as they navigate their first season in the top-tier continental competition.

As a player, Splitter played from 2003 to 2010 in the EuroLeague with Baskonia. During his time, he was considered one of the premiere big men. He was named to the All-EuroLeague First Team in 2008 and to the Second Team in 2009 and 2010.

Splitter was drafted 28th by the San Antonio Spurs in 2007 but remained with Baskonia until 2010. He played with the Spurs from 2010 through 2015, including the historic 2014 NBA championship run.

Since 2019, Splitter has been an assistant coach, first with the Brooklyn Nets and last season with the Houston Rockets under former Spurs assistant Ime Udoka.
