The Spurs, despite benching the injured Stephon Castle for the remainder of Summer League after one game, are going into their fourth game tonight undefeated in Las Vegas.

Beyond Castle, the Spurs have had solid performances from Jamaree Bouyea, Sidy Cissoko, and Harrison Ingram. In the last game, Riley Minix made his name known.

But one that has eluded highlights and accolade is Donovan Williams. Check out this vicious posterization of Karlo Matkovic.

Williams, a Texas native, went undrafted in 2022 and signed with the G-League Long Island Nets. He eventually moved on to a two-way contract with the Atlanta Hawks. Donovan spent time over the last two season with three G-League teams before joining the Canadian Elite Basketball League’s Scarborough Shooting Stars last May.

In just three games in Las Vegas, Williams has shown skills and a basketball IQ that should garner him some attention as NBA teams round out their rosters.

In the first game, Williams posted a modest 7 points with 1 assists and 2 rebounds.

In Sunday night’s SEGABABA against the Atlanta Hawks, Donovan was limited to 4 points, but pulled 6 rebounds while dishing out a pair of assists.

But on Tuesday, Williams tallied 15 points, 5 assists, and 3 rebounds.

Williams has quickness, agility, power, and no fear in taking it to the hole. He has a hesitation before the burst that screams of highlight dunks to come.

The Spurs face the Philadelphia 76ers tonight at 7:30 PM on NBA TV. As of this writing, the Spurs are one of 5 remaining undefeated teams in Las Vegas. Memphis landed 4-0. So did the Clippers, leaving three teams today to duke it out.

The Heat and Warriors are also looking to finish without a loss. They play after the Spurs tonight, so it could be wide open until late tonight.

The top four advance to a two semifinal games which take place on July 21. The two winning teams from the semifinal games will face off in the championship game on July 22.
