Open Thread: Despite two losses, the Spurs accumulate some impressive personal accolades
Individual play impresses while close game losses pile up
In his first two games with the San Antonio Spurs, De’Aaron Fox scored 24 and 22 points, making him the third member in history to score 20+ points in their first two games with the team.
The other two do it were DeMar DeRozan (October 17 and 20 of 2018) and Terry Cummings (November 4 and 8 of 1989).
Next, during the first quarter of last night’s game, Harrison Barnes his six three-pointers in the first quarter. He was the third Spurs player to do so.

Friday night in Charlotte, Stephon Castle scored 33, a career high for the young guard. He becomes the seventh rookie in Spurs history to hit the 30-point mark.

And finally, during last night’s telecast, play-by-play announcer Jacob Tobey pointed out that Keldon Johnson is currently the NBA’s fifth highest scorer coming off the bench. He may be a dark horse in the running for Sixth Man of the Year, but a definite force coming off the bench for the Spurs.
