Open Thread: Anthony Edwards says Stephon Castle’s potential is “unlimited”

High praise from a highly praised star

Stephon Castle had a solid All-Star Weekend performance, especially considering this is rookie season.

2020’s top draft pick, Anthony Edwards, had high praise for Castle’s performance.

“I enjoyed watching Stephon Castle. The dunk contest, I enjoyed watching that.”

The reporter asked, “Why do you like watching Steph Castle?”

“He’s from Atlanta, Georgia. So, roots…home roots. I like the way he plays, I like the excitement he brings.”

When asked “What do you think he can bring to the league/what do you think he can turn into down the road?”

“His potential is scary. I think so. Depending on how his work ethic is. If his work ethic is how I think it is his potential is unlimited.”

Edwards is from Atlanta while Castle grew up in nearby Covington. Both were McDonald’s All-Americans, Edwards in 2019 and Castle in 2023.

There’s no shortage of kind words for Castle, especially in the spotlight of the All-Star festivities. There also seems to be no end to Castle’s ability and drive, which is great news for Spurs fans.
