Welcome to the Game Thread. Veterans of the Game Thread know how we do things around here, but for all you newbies we have a few rules. Our community guidelines apply and basically say be cool, no personal attacks, don’t troll and don’t swear too much.

You may not know this, but there’s a player on the Clippers that once played for the Spurs, and he wears the same number as Dylan Harper. I think he’s interested in trees and having a terrific year so far, at least until the league decides what to do about the trees. Meanwhile, the Spurs have won 13 of their last 14 games, and have done really well against the league’s top teams, beating the Eastern Conference leading Detroit Pistons twice in that span. The Spurs are 3/4th through the season, and with 20 games left, they will want to keep up the momentum going into the playoffs.

Victor Wembanyama has been incredible on defense, and he showed last night that he can also be dominant on offense, scoring 38 against Detroit. De’Aaron Fox had 29 and also contributed some key plays on defense, with two steals and a critical block when it looked like the Pistons were starting to gain momentum. The Clippers traded away James Harden at the trade deadline, but that just means that Kawhi has the ball in his hands more, and he’s having his best offensive season in several years. It looks like a tough game on paper for the Silver and Black, but they’ve been on a tear recently and hopefully they can put it away early on the second night of a back to back. Victor played a season-high 40 minutes last night, and he really shouldn’t have to play that much tonight. Let’s GOO SPURS!!

Game Prediction:

Kawhi Leonard retires at halftime to become a full time forestry worker after Steph Castle shuts him down in the first half.
