Welcome to the Game Thread. Veterans of the Game Thread know how we do things around here, but for all you newbies we have a few rules. Our community guidelines apply and basically say be cool, no personal attacks, don’t troll and don’t swear too much.

The Spurs have been dominating the league in 2026, winning 16 of their last 17 games. They have faced the Nuggets only once so far this season, a late November in-season tournament game where the Spurs took the win 139-136 with Devin Vassell making a couple of late three-point shots to ice the win. Due to a quirk in scheduling, the Spurs will face the Nuggets 3 times in their last 17 games, tonight, April 2, and the regular season finale on April 8. A season sweep would be nice to have, but the Nuggets won’t be an easy out, as they beat the crap out of the Rockets last night 129-93. The Spurs will have a rest advantage tonight, but not a large one, since no one on the Nuggets played more than about 30 minutes last night as they rested their starters late in the blowout win.

The Nuggets are getting healthy late in the season, and the Spurs have Victor Wembanyama listed as questionable tonight with ankle soreness. The Celtics game was a physical affair, and it’s not surprising there are some bumps a bruises from the contest. Harrison Barnes is still in his recovery chamber, getting ready for the playoffs, so he won’t be available. Mason Plumlee is good to go, and looks ready for action after his impressive 41 second outing against Boston. This is the next to last game in the homestand for the Spurs, they will face the Hornets Saturday at 3:30 pm, and it would be great for the Spurs win all six. LETS GO SPURS!!!

Game Prediction:

The Spurs play a triple towers lineup of Wemby, Kornet, and Plumlee and hold the Nuggets scoreless for about 3 minutes before Victor takes a seat.
