Highlights: Stephon Castle drops 32 points in shootout versus Thunder
The first game in the Frost Bank Center since February 1st lived up to the hype.
The Spurs returned home to face the Oklahoma City Thunder after a win versus the Memphis Grizzlies. What followed was a tremendous display of offense for both teams. The Spurs nailed 10 threes in the first quarter alone and totaled a franchise-record 16 in the first half. Leading by five at the start of the third, the Spurs were outscored by OKC 36-23 for the entire quarter. Despite keeping pace in the fourth, the Spurs could not close the gap and ultimately lost 146-132.
Stephon Castle led the squad with 32 points, eight rebounds, and three assists. Even though he’s still coming off the bench, Steph played 32 minutes like a star in the making. Now that the Spurs are back home, it will be interesting to see if he gets inserted back in the starting lineup with Chris Paul’s minutes decreasing.

Jeremy Sochan dropped 17 points, four rebounds, four assists, a steal, and a block. He shot an efficient 7 of 9 from the field as well. Jeremy’s solid play on both ends makes him an x-factor for this team, and his basketball IQ has proven to be dangerously efficient.

Even though the result wasn’t the outcome the squad wanted, this Spurs team put up a fight against a title contender. The double-edged sword of this game was that even though this team was on fire in the first half, their defense faltered in the second half. Clearly, the silver and black’s effort and chemistry are still prevalent.
Finally, here are the full game highlights.
The Spurs take on the Brooklyn Nets this Tuesday at 7:30 P.M. (CST) on FDSN-SW.
