KEY POINTS:
- Hot and humid weekend
- Heat index 105° to 110°
- Hazy skies from annual Saharan dust
- New tropical depression in the Atlantic
FORECAST DETAILS:
More of the same heat and humidity with temperatures running a little above average for this time of year.
Expect afternoons in the mid/upper 90s, but feeling more like 105°-109°.
Tropical moisture moving from the Caribbean into the Gulf will mostly land in Mexico on Sunday, but a stray shower or two could make it to areas south of San Antonio.
You’ll notice a haze this weekend thanks to Saharan dust making its annual return to South Central Texas. Air quality is only expected to take a minor dip into the “moderate” category.
TROPICS:
Tropical Depression Two has developed in the Central Atlantic and will likely turn into a hurricane as it moves into the Caribbean next week. It’s still too early to know whether or not it will impact the U.S. or Mexico.
