A deadly crash has closed all of the southbound main lanes of I-35’s lower levels near downtown, according to San Antonio police and Transguide.
The accident was reported just before 4:00 a.m. Wednesday near Laredo Street. Drivers are being diverted to the upper levels.

Currently, the cause of the crash is unknown; however, the closure is expected to be in place for several hours.
The Bexar County Medical Examiner’s Office could be seen arriving at the scene around 5:00 a.m.
