Victor Wembanyama finished with career highs of 52 points and 24 rebounds as the San Antonio Spurs defeated the Dallas Mavericks 112-111 on Wednesday night.

Wembanyama, who had 29 points and 15 rebounds at halftime, also finished with eight blocks.

“It’s just figuring things out,” he said. “Sometimes you’re one step ahead. Also, I haven’t been feeling great lately. I’ve been sick for a while. And today, I felt like I got my legs back, so it should be more like this more often.”

Wembanyama is the second player since blocks became an official stat in 1973-74 with at least 50 points, 20 rebounds, and five blocks in a game.

It was also Wembanyama’s second 50-point game for the Spurs.

Dylan Harper added 21 points, with Stephon Castle finishing with 17 points and ten rebounds.

The Spurs were plus-23 with Wembanyama on the court and minus-22 with the center off the court.

Kyrie Irving, who lead the Mavs with 29 points, missed a go-ahead jumper with three seconds left in the game.
