Outfielder Zoey Abdullah becomes third Texas Longhorns softball pledge for 2028
Texas softball continued to build its 2028 recruiting class with this weekend's pledge from outfielder Zoey Abdullah.
Abdullah, who ranks as the 61st-best player in her class by Rivals, is the third Longhorn commitment for 2028. She joins Rivals No. 1 recruit infielder Michaela Landers and Line Drive Media No. 4 recruit pitcher Lauren Schellhammer.
Abdullah's older sister, Annie, is a freshman infielder for Texas.
The Longhorns have won back-to-back national championships and will enter the 2027 season as one of the favorites behind returning stars such as pitcher Teagan Kavan, first baseman Katie Stewart and centerfielder Kayden Henry. They start fall ball at 6 p.m. Tuesday at McCombs Field against Murray State.
