Multiple SWAT vehicles were outside a North Side home Friday afternoon in search of a man wanted for aggravated robbery, according to a San Antonio police officer at the scene.
Law enforcement arrived at the home near Blanco Road and West Magnolia Avenue around 2:30 p.m. to serve a warrant, SAPD said. SWAT responded because the man was known to be armed.
SWAT attempted to communicate with the suspect and called out the man’s name, but only his Grandmother exited the home, according to police. It was her house.
“This is a man that needs to be locked up,” an SAPD officer told KSAT on scene.
An hours long standoff continued with no gunfire from either party, and SWAT agents eventually forced their way into the home to take the man into custody, SAPD said.
The suspect was treated for apparent cuts on his head.
The man has yet to be identified by authorities. The investigation remains ongoing.
